John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library
Recognising the contribution of a leader, visionary and international statesman: John Curtin.
The John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library (JCPML) is an archive of unique historical material tracing the life and times of wartime prime minister John Curtin (1885 - 1945), who is widely regarded as one of Australia's greatest leaders and after whom the University is named. The JCPML houses an exhibition gallery, researchers' lounge and a reading room providing the latest technology for researchers. The collection can be accessed online via the JCPML Electronic Research Archive
The focus on John Curtin's life and times provides a springboard for a range of other themes including the Australian-American relationship, post-war reconstruction, foreign policy, social and political history and the prime ministership as an office, including a focus on the lives and contribution of those directly associated with it such as the spouses and families of prime ministers.
The JCPML facilitates research and provides educational and public outreach programs that engage both the University and general communities. A number of education programs, public events and exhibitions are held throughout the year.
The John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library is located in the John Curtin Centre (building 200) at the Bentley Campus.
