Curtin in the community

Curtin Volunteers

Curtin exists to serve its community.

Curtin University of Technology aspires to be a leading university in education and research serving the wider region. Therefore, community engagement is a primary focus of the University.

One fundamental illustration of this focus is our commitment to regional education within Western Australia, where our campuses and education centres serve the WA community as a whole, and contribute to the University's industry linkages, particularly within the resources sector.

Another profound example is our commitment to indigenous education. We have a long standing commitment to indigenous education and culture, and the highest enrolment of Indigenous Australians of any university in the country.

A life-long partnership: our alumni network

Every student with a degree from Curtin or its predecessors, the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) or Perth Technical College (PTC), is automatically a part of the Curtin alumni network upon graduation, without fee and for life.

And you're in good company. There are over 120,000 Curtin alumni worldwide. They live and work in nearly all corners of the globe and include people prominent in politics, business, science, academia and the arts.

There are several ways you can get involved with our alumni and benefit socially and professionally. Our Alumni website has more information.
