With an offshore campus, distance education and partner institutions around the world, you don't need to live in Perth to study at Curtin.
Curtin's programs extend far beyond Perth, reaching students around the globe who study at our offshore campus in Malaysia, at one of our many partner institutions, or pretty much anywhere at all, via our distance education program.
Sarawak Campus
Our first offshore campus strengthens our global network.
In 1999, the Sarawak State Government invited Curtin to establish a university in Miri, Sarawak on the north west coast of East Malaysia. This campus was the first foreign university campus to be set up on the island of Borneo; a reflection of Curtin's reputation for excellence in South East Asia.
The wide range of engineering, business and arts courses currently available at the Sarawak campus are identical to the courses offered at the Bentley campus. Students from the Sarawak campus and those from Bentley have the opportunity to study either in Miri or Bentley for a semester or longer.
Curtin Sarawak offers an exciting and stimulating environment with excellent teaching methods and state-of-the-art facilities. The campus offers internationally recognised degrees in a modern, supportive and industry-focused learning environment.
Study Curtin courses in your own country
Study Curtin units at one of our international partner institutions.
Through Curtin's long-standing expertise in the provision of international education, and its partnerships with institutions in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Iran, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mauritius and Vietnam, it is possible to undertake all or part of some undergraduate and postgraduate courses in these countries. Programs can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis.
Offshore students study the same subjects and use the same Curtin materials as students undertaking the course on campus in Australia. They also undertake the same exams and are assessed against the same levels of performance.
In most cases, Curtin staff visit the offshore campus and conduct intensive lectures. Local tutors teach the remainder of the subject.

Distance education
Study off-campus from anywhere in the world through distance education.
A range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses can be studied via our distance education program. Many can be studied fully externally from anywhere in the world, while others have some on-campus requirements. Graduates earn the same qualifications as if they had studied on campus. They also undertake the same exams and are assessed against the same levels of performance.
Distance education units are now delivered fully online, however an alternative format can be provided in some circumstances.
