Students and staff with disabilities
Inclusive education.
Curtin makes every effort to ensure that students with disabilities are able to participate in the same learning experience as students without disabilities. Over the years the Bentley campus has been significantly improved through additional parking facilities, graded pathways, automated doorways, lifts, rest areas, toilet facilities and signage.
Some features of Bentley campus that make learning accessible to everyone include:
- A special access computer lab located on Level 3 of the library. Access to this lab is restricted to those who have a disability and/or have particular requirements for using computers.
- Wheelchair re-charging and storage for overnight storage and daytime re-charging of wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
- Disabled parking bays for any student, staff or visitor displaying a current ACROD parking permit or Curtin Special Parking permit can be found in the most convenient locations across campus.
- Accessible public transport. The Curtin bus terminal is serviced frequently by buses to and from Perth city. Many buses have low floor entry for easy access.
Disability Access and Inclusion Plan
We recently launched the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2007-2011 which reflects our commitment to making Curtin an inclusive and accessible environment for our students, staff and visitors with disabilities.
Special consideration entry
