Western Australia's economy booms
In recent years the Western Australian economy has experienced rapid growth. Recent figures indicate that the state economy is growing faster than rapidly-developing China and at almost 10 times the Australian national economic growth rate. This boom is mostly due to the exploration and development of the state's petroleum and mineral riches resulting in a very strong labour market, high export income, rapidly expanding population and increasing local and foreign investment in a wide variety of industrial, manufacturing and support services.
The current economic climate in Western Australia, coupled with Curtin's experience and extensive teaching and research facilities presents a wealth of career and research opportunities for graduates across a variety of industries.
