John is an acknowledged leader in strategy and governance. He has advised boards and CEOs of some of Australia’s leading corporations, government enterprises and non-profits on growth strategies for over 25 years.
A unique skillset helps John advise clients on breakthrough strategies. John is a leading global expert in the widely-used Argenti System of Strategic Planning and is at the forefront of thinking on strategic governance. He is one of Australia’s most-effective facilitators, having led more than 1,000 strategy sessions.
He is now Executive Chairman of Artificial Intelligence start-up Artrya, developing AI systems to diagnose and predict heart disease from CT scans.
In the education sector, John was the State Manager, Western Australia of the Australian Graduate School of Management Executive MBA program from 1995 to 2004.
In addition to chairing the Curtin School of Management Advisory Board, John serves on the national board of Creative Partnerships Australia, the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and the John Curtin Gallery Advisory Board.
He holds a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University, an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and of the Australian Institute of Management WA.
He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2019, was a Finalist in the 2018 Western Australian of the Year Award and in 2017 received the Australian Institute of Company Directors-PwC Award for Director Excellence in the Not-for-Profit Sector.
