Physiotherapy Clinics

The Curtin School of Allied Health operates two physiotherapy clinics – Curtin Health & Wellness Centre (Bentley Campus) and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (Nedlands). Please note that the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital Clinic no longer accepts self-referrals or GP referrals and only provides services to those within the hospital system.

The Curtin Health & Wellness Centre provides affordable physiotherapy treatment for musculoskeletal conditions and is open to all members of the community.

Students in their final years of study and physiotherapy graduates are supervised by experienced physiotherapists in our professional treatment areas.

Treatment plans are patient-centred and based on contemporary evidence and clinical care guidelines.

What can we treat?

We treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including:

  • back pain
  • neck pain and headaches
  • sprains and strains
  • rehabilitation following surgery or injury
  • arthritis and joint pain.
  • persistent or chronic pain conditions

What’s involved?

A thorough examination will be undertaken. We will ask you questions, observe how you move, and perform specific tests, to identify the factors contributing to your problem.

A collaborative, patient-centred treatment plan will be implemented and may include:

  • information to help you make sense of your condition
  • exercises to improve strength, balance, flexibility, co-ordination or general health
  • manual therapy
  • sport, work, or lifestyle specific rehabilitation.

Your plan is progressed to optimise your return to function and valued activities.

Dress Code

Please dress in comfortable, loose clothing that doesn’t restrict movement and allows access to your specific injury or pain problem. You may want to consider wearing gym clothes, a sports bra (if applicable) for the thoracic or upper limb areas, or shorts if you are seeking treatment for an injury at the hips down. Please note we have surgical gowns for privacy, appropriate change spaces available in the Clinic, and are always happy to discuss with you any additional details to ensure professional and respectful management.
